At Least 11 Killed In Mass Shooting

Brian Teepell/USPA 24 News - According to Global Affairs Canada, it is "not aware" of any Canadian citizens impacted by an attack on an Australian beach on Sunday.

The federal agency announced that consulate officials are standing by to support any Canadians affected and are working closely with their counterparts to compile information.

In a statement to worldwide media, a Global Affairs spokesperson said, "Canada is deeply horrified by the terror attack today on Bondi Beach in Australia, and our hearts go out to all those(many in the Jewish community) impacted by this tragedy, as well as to the loved ones of the victims."

Prime Minister Mark Carney is among the Canadian officials who have since publicly condemned the attack, expressing his horror at the incident. "Canada stands with the people of Australia and Jewish people everywhere in sorrow and determination to overcome terrorism, violence, hatred, and intimidation."
